What didn’t get cut
Lewis and Clark Landing, Omaha, NE
The amphitheater at Lewis and Clark Landing was drawn with curved seating and a roofline that had to carry weight visually, not just structurally. The competing bid treated both as negotiable, the usual fix for a design that's more ambitious than its budget.
Rebellion was brought in while the design was still being drawn, ahead of the construction set being locked. Instead of the field-welded connections the original approach assumed, we proposed a bolted system, engineered in the shop and assembled on site. Same curve. Same roofline. Same sightlines.
